Our amazing staff has been hard at work, getting everything prepped and ready for Saturday, March 15th — and the excitement is building! They’ve been busy infusing homemade syrups, stocking the fridges to the brim, and making sure every detail is just right. Our team is incredible, dedicated, and loves staying busy, so let’s make sure they’ve got plenty to do!

Today is our biggest fundraiser of the year LIVE PC/GIVE PC. We are a lifeline for so many individuals and families. This last year we provided 16,000 hours of supported employment for individuals with disabilities. That is 16,000 hours of respite for caregivers. We have 29 staff members who we often hear call Lucky Ones their “Happy Place”. 💚 Help us continue to make this world more inclusive & provide space in this community for people of all abilities.

So we are throwing the mic to Amber to let her teach us all more about Sturge-Weber & how it has made her the awesome amazing person she is today!

What is Sturge-Weber?
Amber: Sturge-Weber syndrome is one of the 5000 rare syndromes in the world. It is a Neurodiverse affliction. Presenting with port wine birthmark on face/head,glaucoma in one or both eyes and seizure disorder. Cognitive and physical delays.

I see you have a super women tattoo, what does that stand for?
A: my super women/wonder women tattoo stands for not only my strength but for Sturge-Weber making me strong!

How does SW effect your life?
A: It be is not easy living with this syndrome there are alot of ups and downs. But I make the most of it. I don’t ever let my syndrome define me. I live everyday like it’s my last. I live in alot of pain from my right side overcompensating for my left sided weakness so aggressively

What is your favorite thing about yourself?
A: My favorite thing about myself is that I am very confident in my skin. I don’t care what people think of me. I never wear makeup because it is important for people to see the real me not fake. I also love how into sports I am. I stride to be a better person everyday and help teach everyone about this rare syndrome.
